The Title and Exam department of Southwestern Title & Escrow is replete with highly experienced title experts. The department is managed by Mike Thompson, with over 20 years in the industry. Fred Barela, Senior Examiner, recently joined the team, coming from Capitol Title and is now in his 39th year preparing title searches and exams. Marco Ortiz, Senior Examiner and also coming over from Capitol, is also a very experienced title examiner with approximately 20 years in the industry. Jennifer Pearson specializes in title reports, Anthony Rael handles the recordings at the County Clerk’s office, Victoria Porter does new order entry and file set-up and Christopher Lopez is in charge of copies and letters for all new files. In our policy department, Joyce Arellano is our policy preparer and has been in our industry for almost 20 years. And Sharon Armijo posts to our title plant (database) and has the responsibility of being extremely accurate.

Our title and exam department members are all great teammates to the Escrow Department  and have all shown the perfect combination of patience and resiliency when dealing with complicated title searches and easy or difficult transactions.

Your escrow officer will involve a title department person whenever necessary to resolve conflicting title issues for a property. The entire department recognizes the importance of fast and accurate responses to new orders and potential closings.
